On July 20, 2018, the commencement ceremony for building the self-elevating rubble bed leveling barge was held at the office of Marine Engineering Platform Business Unit of Zhenhua Heavy Machinery Manufacturing Co., Ltd. in Nantong, east China’s Jiangsu Province. The ceremony was attended by Wu Fengliang – Deputy General Manager of CCCC First Harbor Engineering Co., Ltd.(CCCC-FHEC), Li Jin – Deputy Chief Engineer of Shenzhen-Zhongshan Channel Management Center, Li Ruixiang – Chief Economist of Zhenhua Heavy Industries Co., Ltd., Wan Shuisheng – Deputy General Manager of Shanghai Ship Design and Research Institute, Wu Gang – Director of Dalian Branch of China Classification Society, as well as CCCC-FHEC’s General Manager Assistants, Deputy Chief Engineers, and leaders from Shenzhen-Zhongshan Channel Project and No.2 Engineering Company.

The self-elevating rubble bed leveling barge is critical to construction of immersed tunnel of Shenzhen-Zhongshan Channel and utmost efforts shall be put into building the barge, Wu Fengliang said at the ceremony.

Li Jin issued the order for the commencement. Wu Fengliang, Li Jin, Wu Gang and other leaders present pressed the start button of a plasma cutting machine to witness the commencement together.

The self-elevating rubble bed leveling barge would be a critical machinery manufactured by CCCC-FHEC and is important for ensuring the immersed tunnel of Shenzhen-Zhongshan Channel to be completed as scheduled. (Zhao Li)
