The Largest High-pile Wharf in South Pacific Region Completed by CCCC-FHEC

On August 20th, with the track, fenders, bollards, bumper, ladders and other ancillary facilities installed, CCCC-FHEC contracted phase I works for Papua New Guinea Lae Port Development project was successfully completed. Till now, It has become the largest high-pile wharf in the South Pacific region.
Papua New Guinea Lae tidal Port Development Project started for construction on May 8th, 2012 with the planned duration of 30 months. The wharf is 240 meters long and 40.8 meters wide. The project is composed of 387 piles, 610 pcs. of prefabricated U-shaped thin-walled beams and other cast in-situ concrete structures of 5654 cubic meters. The project used 14,829 cubic meters of concrete in total. The wharf decking layer was cast once for all without any partition or joint. 
The completion of the wharf will effectively ease the pressure on water transport in Papua New Guinea and the whole South Pacific region, stimulating local economic growth.
