Civil Works for the Asian Largest Coal Storage Silo Project Are Completed By FHEC
Recently, the civil works for the Asia largest coal storage silos project has been completed as the road and yard works completion for phase IV works of Huang Port Project. Phase III and IV works for Huanghua Port Project are undertaken through general contracting, including 48 No. coal storage silos. Reinforced concrete structure is adopted as the main body of silos constructed through gliding formworks. Each silo is 40m long in diameter and 42m high.
The project will become Asia's largest coal storage silo base after completion. Due to the small silo footprint and high degree of automation, with the prevention functions against coal loss created by wind and rain wash and self-combustion, the completed silos can effectively guarantee the coal composition and moisture stability, and dust can also be massively reduced during stacker re-claimer operations. The grouped silos have become environmentally friendly and energy saving large scale coal shipment facility.
After the project is completed in four phases, a designed annual handling capacity of 54.6 million tons will added to the current port handling capacity, which will further improve conditions for China's coal transport corridors from the west to the east and from the north to the south in China, to accelerate the pace of development of Huanghua port, and to ensure the achievement of annual handling capacity of over 200 million tons for Huanghua Port.
