Successful Trial Berthing to General Cargo Wharf for Ships up to 50,000 dwt in Bata Port, Equatorial Guinea

The first ship was successfully trial-berthed to the general cargo wharf for ships up to 50,000 dwt in Bata Port, Equatorial Guinea, on November 5, 2012. The reconstruction of Bata Port has been undertaken by CCCC First Harbour Eng. Co., Ltd.

The wharf being reconstructed is 570.5m long and 163.65 m wide, comprising 5 berths, capable of accommodating simultaneously two ships up to 50,000 dwt each and two 35,000-dwt ships plus one 10,000-dwt roll-on-roll-off ship.

At 2 pm local time in Equatorial Guinea, HARJUMAA, a 10,000 dwt container carrier, was successfully berthed to the general cargo wharf, marking the success of the first trial-berthing at the reconstructed wharf.

The reconstruction of Bata Port is a project under a framework agreement between the Chinese Government and the Equatorial Guinean Government and is also the largest single port project being executed abroad by CCCC at present.()
